History & status
Andorra's co-principality dates to an agreement in 1278 that shared authority between two rulers. The modern constitution of 1993 established a parliamentary system while retaining two co-princes as joint heads of state.

Economy
Main activities
Tourism, retail trade and financial services are central to this small Pyrenean economy. Ski resorts and mountain tourism attract visitors from neighboring countries. Andorra uses the euro although it is not an EU member.

Government
Parliamentary democracy (since march 1993) that retains its chiefs of state in the form of a co-principality; the two princes are the president of france and bishop of seu d'urgell, spain. General Council (Consell General) has one chamber (a unicameral legislature).
